OK, does anyone know if GM ever made an oval port aluminum intake for a big block? If so, what is the number and roughly what would one cost?

If GM never made one, did ANYONE ever make an oval port one that looks really close to an original - like they used on the big block rectangle port heads?

I was just wondering. I am running an Edelbrock Air Gap now.

I want to say that GM made a large oval port 3x2 intake as well as a 454 'Vette flat pancake 4-barrel one, but I may be off on the pancake.

I would install a good old Weiand 8005 if it was mine and go. And if it bother's you, remove the logo.

Thank You. I am not familiar with that Weiand intake number, but I will do some searching and check it out.

Right, I do too as well as Holley's old 300-36!

Might get into Summit and see if they didn't house brand Weiand's 8005 as their own after H/W canned it?

Hunt up a pic of the 8005 on ebay or wherever and compare it to what Summit posts IF they have house branded it?

Here is what the Summit one looks like.

I guess will have to do some looking once it warms up and swap meets start again.

Thanks for all your help.

That look's like the old 8005, but ask them straight out if it is.

OK, I think I may have found what I am looking for with casting number 3937793.

This is supposed to be an oval port intake, for use with Quadrajet. It was on some 427s in 1968.
